Better Living, Better Lawn Care in Arlington Heights
This suburb of Chicago began in 1853 when William Dunton convinced the Illinois & Wisconsin Railroad to stop here. For decades, Dunton was a farming community, known for supplying Chicago with vegetables and dairy products via the railroad. The village finally incorporated in 1887 as Arlington Heights, when the population was around 1,000. Most residents were still farmers, but by this time, the village was already an early commuter suburb for Chicago.
By the 1970s, the sleepy little farming community had exploded to a population of nearly 65,000. Today, the farms are just a distant memory, and what was once a tiny train stop is now the center of a continuous stretch of suburbs from the Fox River to Lake Michigan.
Arlington International Racecourse is by far this city’s most well-known destination. Often called "the most beautiful horse track in America," Arlington began its history of thoroughbred racing in 1927. Ever since then, Arlington has been a perfect summer place to hang out to watch the horses and place a bet on the races. A racetrack is a beautiful place for you and your friends to catch up, meet new people and watch the ponies. The Miller Lite Party in the Park on Fridays and the Miller Lite Horses & Hops on Saturdays are always a lot of fun, and Family Day on Sundays is always a great time.
