Lawncare's a Breeze in Everett
The largest city and county seat of Snohomish County, Everett is more than just a suburb of Seattle. It’s one of the main metro cities of the Puget Sound region. We’re also home to Boeing’s aircraft assembly plant and Naval Station Everett, two of the city’s largest employers.
You can’t visit Everett without taking a tour of Future of Fight Museum on the corner of Paine Field. This museum holds the record as the largest building in the world. No surprise considering what it houses. They offer daily tours and a glimpse of the new twin-aisle airplanes before they take to the sky. See how Boeing builds the 787 Dreamliner, 777 and 747. A $25 ticket also gets you into the Aerospace Gallery exhibits.
There’s also The Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum which houses a collection of rare military aircraft, and tanks from the United States, Germany, Japan, Russia, and Great Britain.
You’ll find plenty of opportunities here to enjoy the great outdoors. Puget Sound is just a 20-minute drive. The Port of Seattle features a number of local shops along with the aquarium. Walk along the Bell Harbor Marina or cruise on down to the Elliot Bay Waterfront to watch the cruise ships dock.
If you’re in the mood for a hike, check out the Snohomish County Centennial Trail. This 30-mile trail will give you a workout. If You’re looking for someplace more secluded, head over to Howarth Park. This 28-acre beach park has plenty of play areas for the kids and an off-leash area for dogs.
The Evergreen Arboretum & Gardens on Alverson Boulevard is a favorite among locals who take pride in their landscapes. It features ten themed gardens including the Northwest Native Plant Trail and the Japanese Maple Grove. Learn how to create a rain garden. (The City offers rebates of up to $2,500 to Everett residents who install approved rain gardens.)
