Better Lawn Care in Conway
Conway, just 25 miles north of Little Rock, is different than most small towns. Most locals don't leave town to go to work. There's plenty of employment opportunities right here. The city has many jobs available in both technology and higher education. As the home of three post-secondary education institutions, Conway is known as "The City of Colleges."
Asa Robinson founded the city shortly after the Civil War. Robinson worked for the Little Rock-Fort Smith Railroad, and as part of his compensation, he received the deed to a square-mile of land. He laid out a town around the railroad depot with two saloons, two small stores, a post office, and some temporary housing.
When Catholic priest Joseph Strub arrived in Arkansas, he talked the Little Rock and Fort Smith Railroad into giving 200,000 acres to his congregation. As part of this land deal, the railroad agreed to sell land at 20 cents per acre to all German immigrants willing to move here. By the late 1800s, more than 100 German families had settled here, giving the city many of its German business and street names.
You can explore the early beginnings of this city by visiting the Cadron Settlement Park on Highway 319. The 150-acre park began as a French trading post. It's listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places, and a great place to spend the day. It’s a great place to go boating, or hiking on the expansive trails.
The Baum Gallery at the University of Central Arkansas features the work of many local and nationally acclaimed artists. The exhibits are educational and inspiring. You’ll learn all about the art, the artists, their studio process, as well as the cultural context.
Conway is a great place for kids. You can spend an entire day at the Hogwild Family Fun Center, driving the go-karts and bumper cars or playing laser tag. Likewise, Jack’s Ultra Sports Paintball and Laser Tag provide a family-friendly experience.
The Arkansas Golf Center is one of the state's best all-in-one golf facility with an award-winning driving range and a huge pro shop.
