Better Lawn Care in Bethesda

Centuries before Bethesda became an important suburb of our nation’s capital, it was a wild, wooded wilderness inhabited by the Piscataway and Nacotchtank tribes. Most of the early settlers to the area were tenant farmers who paid their rent in tobacco. In 1694 Henry Darnall surveyed the first land grant here, and tobacco farming continued to be a way of life throughout the 1700s. The 1790 establishment of Washington, D.C., as the capital had little immediate effect on the small farmers nearby.

Subdivisions didn’t begin to cover the farmland until the late 19th century; these subdivisions eventually became the neighborhoods of Woodmont, Drummond, Edgemoor, and Battery Park.

World War II and the resulting growth of the federal government further contributed to the growth of this Washington, D.C., suburb. Both the National Naval Medical Center and the National Institute of Health complex were built in the 1940s. This drew many medical professionals, government contractors, and other businesses to the area.

This city has coalesced into a major urban center housing many important governmental medical institutions. These include the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, National Institutes of Health, the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, as well as others. Likewise, the Naval Surface Warfare Center and the Consumer Product Safety Commission are based here.

But this city isn’t all government business, there’s plenty of fun here, too, for this unincorporated area with about 65,000 residents. Bethesda Row is a vibrant shopping district including Amazon Books, an Apple Store, a cinema, and dozens of trendy shops and restaurants. It’s the go-to place for great shopping, ethnic foods, and trendy hot spots.

The Art and Entertainment District is over-flowing with artists, unique galleries and music venues, such as the Strathmore, and the Blues and Jazz Club. Regular art events and up-to-the-minute public art spill out onto the streets in this vibrant and diverse area.

Also downtown is the Farm Women's Cooperative Market. At one time, this was the only all-female owned-and-operated cooperative in the entire country. Today, it’s a quirky indoor farmer’s market featuring great all-natural food. Likewise, the market has an amalgamation of arts, crafts and boutique products from all over the Mid-Atlantic region. Best of all, local breweries and vineyards provide tastings and a wide assortment of food trucks are there with scrumptious street foods.

It’s a fact, fine food is at the center of this D.C. suburb; the Taste of Bethesda festival in October features the city’s best food and a music festival. Sixty restaurants participate and there are five stages of live entertainment. Every year, more than 40,000 people flock to the event to sample the city’s delectable food and to enjoy live entertainment. It’s a family-friendly event featuring face painting and arts & crafts for the kids.

You work hard all week, and deserve a respite from the intensity of the office. Unwind this weekend, browsing the wares and dining downtown. Forget about your lawn maintenance and enjoy life. Contact LawnStarter and forget about lawn mowing. LawnStarter is the premier lawn care service in the entire Washington, D.C., area and they can take care of your tree trimming, lawn mowing and more. Let them do all the dirty work, you deserve better than laboring all weekend over lawn care.

All you need to do is download the free LawnStarter mobile app or log onto their website. Schedule an appointment soon, so you can relax and enjoy your life.
