The Emerald City is a wizard when it comes to quality of life.
Seattle ranks No. 7 on LawnStarter’s 2015 Quality of Life Index for America’s largest cities. The index is based on six quality-of-life factors analyzed by LawnStarter and borrowed from The Economist -- GDP (economic output) per capita, average life expectancy, divorce rate, unemployment rate, geographic location (latitude) and male-female income equality. The Economist considers these factors to be good barometers for quality of life.
Seattle’s top scores are for GDP per capita and life expectancy.
“From snow-capped mountains to lush forests and rocky shorelines, the [Seattle] region is characterized by magnificent natural resources and an enviable quality of life,” the Seattle Foundation says.
