Vonigo is field service management software that can manage multiple locations and multiple brands. Its user-friendly interface includes unique functions such as online booking. We demoed the software and researched user reviews to dive deep into Vonigo’s features, price, and user experience.

What we found: Vonigo is an excellent franchise solution that works great for managing multiple brands. However, the high price tag is hard for small businesses to justify.

Vonigo Key Features

Vonigo logo

Vonigo’s competitive advantage is its ability to handle multiple locations and separate brands. It is also completely customizable.

Key features include:

Franchise Management

First and foremost, Vonigo is designed for franchises and multiple locations. Therefore, the software is partitioned by location (e.g., cities). Each location will have its own database for just about everything, including:

  • Customers
  • Work orders
  • Scheduling
  • Technicians
  • Invoices

On the Vonigo web application, select a location from the dropdown menu.

Zip codes define locations. You can have one or more zip codes determine each location.

A Vonigo project manager will work with you to configure location settings.

Configuration includes:

  • Defining locations
  • Online booking
  • Employee access

Online Booking

One of Vonigo’s unique features is its online booking engine that enables your customers to get a quote and book services online. After sign-up, Vonigo will configure the engine to meet your individual needs.

Online booking breaks down into a 4 step process:

  • Step 1 – Select services: Potential customers enter their zip code to determine if they can book services and what services they can book. The customer will answer questions to determine the price and duration of the appointment.
  • Step 2 – Select date/time: The potential customer is shown available days and times to schedule. Vonigo’s sales rep suggests revealing the price in step 2 to maximize conversion.
  • Step 3 – Customer details: Details may include name, address, phone number, etc.
  • Step 4 – Confirmation: The appointment is confirmed!

The sales rep told me I could connect Google Maps to trace property size for determining a price. He said it is free to connect to Google Maps, but extra fees may apply if I need custom development.

Billing and Payments

Vonigo includes tools that streamline quotes, invoices, and payments. It also integrates with QuickBooks for your accounting needs.

Invoicing

You can paperlessly invoice customers via email; then, your customers can pay online through the payment portal.

Payment Processing

An Alabama-based payment processing company recently purchased Vonigo. The sales representative told me they would match whatever rate I currently pay, or their rate might be lower. He also said he could probably waive payment processing setup fees.

Customer Management

Vonigo has CRM (customer relationship management) functionality. You will find a database of potential customers under the Leads tab and a database of current customers under Accounts.

Customer Management – Vonigo Web Application

Because Vonigo is made for companies with multiple locations, everything (including customers) is organized by zip code. Customer management functionality includes:

  • Automated notifications
  • Job management
  • Call center integration

Vonigo User Reviews

Easy to use: “The ease of use was huge. Being able to add in a pickup takes less than a minute.” – Kyle T.  from Capterra

Excellent online booking feature: “We’ve been working hard over the last year to focus in on our customers’ booking experience. By working closely with Vonigo’s API and developers, we’ve been able to create something really special on the front-end that our whole team is proud of. On the back-end, Vonigo has a powerful skeleton that is ZIP/Postal code centric.” – Sawyer W. from Capterra

App and support have declined in quality: “The pros of the software used to outweigh the cons. It used to be a great tool for us to screen and schedule our donation pickups. Now it’s just so glitchy and things just stop working every once in a while and technical support is just about non-existent now. That wasn’t always the case.” – Walt F. from Capterra

Great customer service: “Great customer service with many features. Very customizable.  Some of the functions, like setting up reports, take a while to learn, but they are good at helping you through the process.” – Administrator in Consumer Services from g2

Latest update has caused problems: The latest update is absolutely horrible. It lags embarrassingly slow, constantly kicks me out, and the interface is extremely glitchy. I have two devices I used it on, S9+ and an S7, slow on my S9+ and barely even works on my S7.” – A Google user from Google Play

Pros and Cons of Vonigo

Vonigo is an excellent solution for streamlining multi-location field service companies but also has drawbacks.

ProsCons
✓ Customizable
✓ API access
✓ Online booking tools
✓ Excellent customer support
✓ Can manage multiple brands
✓ User-friendly design
✗ High upfront cost
✗ No bulk reschedule
✗ Not intended for small businesses
✗ A lot of additional fees

I would have included “no contract required” under Pros, but with hefty setup fees, I would say there are still strings attached.

Alternatives to Vonigo

Don’t want to pay $3,000 upfront? Here are some Vonigo alternatives:

  • Smart Service: Smart Service is also customizable and feature-packed but requires much less money upfront.
  • RazorSync: This beautifully designed software is affordable and customizable, making it appropriate for any field service industry.
  • Housecall Pro: Housecall Pro is excellent software for small and medium-sized companies.
  • ServiceTitan: ServiceTitan is field service software for single appointment scheduling.
  • FieldRoutes: Owned by ServiceTitan, FieldRoutes is for companies that schedule recurring appointments.
  • WorkWave: WorkWave is a comprehensive solution that is best suited for larger organizations.
  • mHelpDesk: mHelpDesk is general purpose field service software with features for job management, scheduling, dispatching, and more.
  • Jobber: Jobber is an affordable field service solution that offers a free trial.

Our Verdict

Vonigo is a user-friendly solution tailored to meet your company’s needs. I suggest scheduling a demo if you are managing multiple locations or brands. However, if you run a small or single-location company, you can probably find a less expensive solution to meet your business needs.
