The 16 College Football Stadiums With the Best Natural Scenery

Folsom Field

Although she’s had a few nips and tucks, Folsom Field still looks fantastic for a lady who turned 91 years old on Oct. 11. And she’s surrounded by fantastic scenery.

Nestled next to the Rocky Mountains in Boulder, CO, at an elevation of about 5,400 feet, Folsom Field plays host to the University of Colorado football team. Fans who pack the stadium to watch the Buffaloes roam are treated to stunning views of the Rockies. The views are so stunning, in fact, that Folsom Field tops LawnStarter’s list of the 16 college football stadiums with the nicest natural scenery.

Facebook user Patrick Westrick praises Folsom Field as the most beautiful stadium he’s ever visited. Sitting at the base of the Flatirons of the Rocky Mountains, there is not a more serene setting in college football,” Westrick writes.

To create this list, we reviewed dozens upon dozens of photos of the nearly 130 stadiums where the country’s NCAA Division I FBS football teams hit the gridiron. A stadium scored points for its natural beauty — mountains, trees and so forth. We settled on only those stadiums where fans actually can enjoy good scenic views from their seats.

The top six stadiums in our ranking boast mountain views. (Hey, what can we say? We’re smitten by mountains.) Don’t fret, though — non-mountainous stadiums made the cut, too. Here’s our list of the 16 college football stadiums with the nicest natural scenery.
