Leaf removal season in Hickory:

In Hickory, leaf removal season usually starts in October and runs through January, but severe storms also can leave your yard covered in leaves at any time during the year.

What can you do with all those leaves?

If you bag your own leaves – or hire a local LawnStarter leaf cleanup crew to rake and bag your leaves – Hickory has free leaf pickup every week from November to January. Put the leaves in reusable yard waste bags or 32-gallon open containers marked "yard waste" for collection. During this period, you can rake leaves to the curb before your scheduled leaf collection day.

Why is leaf cleanup important?

A layer of leaves smothers grass and traps moisture, which attracts pests, such as white grubs, that damage your lawn. Additionally, leaf cleanup boosts your home’s curb appeal.

How often should I have my leaves removed?

In Hickory, one-time leaf removal (or twice per year) is common, as fewer trees drop leaves. Leaf removal takes hours of back-straining work. Let LawnStarter’s local leaf removal pros handle leaf cleanup. You’ll get back all that time you spend in your yard raking, blowing, and bagging leaves.
