Austin, TX-based LawnStarter has hired Zak Cocos as vice president of growth.

The hiring of Cocos enhances LawnStarter’s focus on growing the company’s base of customers and lawn care providers in 2017. In this role, Cocos is responsible for expanding LawnStarter’s user base via technical and digital marketing tactics.

Cocos comes to LawnStarter from Austin-based Indeed, where he advanced from intern to senior director of growth marketing in less than six years. In his time at Indeed, he helped increase website traffic from 80 million unique visitors per month to more than 200 million unique visitors per month. As senior director of growth marketing, Cocos led a team using online channels to drive the growth of new and existing Indeed products.

“Zak is a fantastic addition to the LawnStarter team,” says Ryan Farley, co-founder and chief operating officer of LawnStarter. “Zak is well-respected in the Austin startup and engineering communities, and his experience and personality will be a great fit for our growing team.”

Cocos manages a team focused on recruiting and retaining customers and lawn care providers. He also will be assembling a growth engineering team focused on improving customer acquisition efforts, automating marketing and optimizing customer conversions.
