What is the Most Likely Lineup for the 2016 Prince Tribute Concert?

By Armin Gafurovic

On April 21, the music world lost one of the most iconic members of its family.

The funky, eclectic musician Prince -- aka His Purple Highness -- was a music mainstay thanks to his one-of-a-kind performances and unique “Minneapolis” sound. That sound (a blend of rock/funk/electronic music) was responsible for classics such as “Purple Rain,” “When Doves Cry,” “Kiss” and “Let’s Go Crazy.”

Following his death, emotional tributes to Prince poured out from fans and fellow musicians. Fans showed up in droves at iconic “Prince” places, while musicians made sure to incorporate his songs into their sets as purple lights beamed behind them.

Many people continue to mourn Prince, but His Purple Highness likely would want us to throw a big party to celebrate his life. Thanks to his family, we’ll have that opportunity Oct. 13. The tribute show is scheduled to take place in the artist’s hometown of Minneapolis, MN, at the new U.S. Bank Stadium.

As of late August, the lineup for the concert hadn’t been announced, but we did some research and came up with some likely candidates to appear on the stage -- undoubtedly bathed in purple lights.
