In Florida, Jacksonville is shining bright when it comes to solar power. It’s the only city in the Sunshine State that ranks among the top U.S. cities for installed solar capacity.

The Jacksonville Electric Authority (JEA) committed to renewable clean energy in 1999, “at a time when going green wasn’t a trend,” Jim Dickenson, then CEO of JEA, said in 2010.
