Best pest control in Fresno
Named by Spanish explorers because of the many ash trees lining the San Joaquin River, settlers founded Fresno in 1872 as a railway station. The arrival of the Central Pacific Railroad brought commerce and opportunity. It was a critical turning point for the area, which incorporated as a city about 15 years later. Today, Fresno is the most populated city in inland California, with over half a million residents.
Sitting near California's geographical center, Fresno offers easy access to major cities and parks. This includes Yosemite, Sequoia, and Kings Canyon National Parks. Fresnans are only a few hours from the mountains, deserts, and ocean. You don't have to travel out of Fresno to enjoy nature's beauty. Founded in 1968 by a long-time Fresno local, Woodward Park has developed into roughly 300 acres of playgrounds, ponds, picnic areas, and trails. Known as a bird sanctuary, Woodward Park also welcomes dogs and horses into designated areas. The Rotary Amphitheater seats 2,500 guests and offers a variety of concerts and shows throughout the year. The Woodward Shakespeare Festival performs many of the Bard's famous works throughout the summer.
While Woodward seems to have it all, it's only one of Fresno's highlights. The Tower district features the historic Tower Theater, built in 1939. It also features live performances, nightclubs, and community events. A local favorite is the Taste & Toast of the Tower, featuring the area's best foods and beverages. Keep an eye on the city calendar for other events, including Jamaica My Weekend, Mardi Gras, Halloween in the Tower, and frequent farmers' markets.
A tower of a different variety, The Grand 1401, located in Historic Downtown, depicts the style of the Italian Renaissance Revival. Hosting events and conferences, The Grand is one of many historic buildings downtown. Lined by other historic structures, Fulton Street was recently reimagined and renovated. Come discover its extensive collection of public art. And while you're in the neighborhood, stop by the original train depot. Constructed in 1889, it's one of the region's oldest standing buildings.
No matter which neighborhood you visit, you'll find lots to do and plenty to eat. Visit the Fresno Art Museum or the Chafee Zoo, or get down low at the Forestiere Underground Gardens. Grab a bite at Angry Chickz, or a beer at Rocket Dog Gourmet Brats & Brew. Whatever you choose to do, you'll see friendly faces everywhere.
As warm as the people are, Fresno's semi-arid climate means mild, moist winters and long summers that are dry and hot. This weather is ideal for cockroaches, ants, and mosquitoes, who are definitely less inviting. Enjoy the sunshine, and don't fret about bugs. Let LawnStarter manage your pest control needs.
