Your lawn\u2019s water needs are determined by grass type, sun exposure, soil type, and other factors, but here\u2019s a starting point: Bermudagrass should be watered about 1 inch every week while Zoysiagrass needs at least 1.5 inches, rainfall included.&nbsp;<\/p>    <p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Water deeply 2 times per week for clay and loamy soils; water 3 times per week for sandy soil.<\/p>    <p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here are 5 irrigation tips to help you water wisely during the summer months:<\/p>    <ul class=\"wp-block-list\"> <li><strong>Use the cycle and soak method:<\/strong> This method is best for central Oklahoma\u2019s famous \u201cred dirt\u201d clay soil: Water 4-6 minutes, or until water begins to pool. Then turn off your sprinklers and allow the water to soak into the soil for 30 minutes. Repeat 2-3 times or until you\u2019ve applied the desired amount.<\/li>    <li><strong>Install rain sensors: <\/strong>If sprinklers go off when it\u2019s raining outside, it can lead to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lawnstarter.com\/blog\/lawn-care-2\/signs-of-overwatering-lawn\/\">overwatering<\/a>. If you missed applying a preventative treatment, contact insecticides can be applied in August as well.<\/li>    <li><strong>Webworms:<\/strong> Watch out for sod webworms in August.
