Yule is a pagan festival honoring the sun following the Winter Solstice \u2014 the shortest day of the year.&nbsp;<\/li> <\/ul>    <ul class=\"wp-block-list\"> <li><strong>Seniors<\/strong> (65 and up) are <strong>most likely<\/strong> to say they <strong>won\u2019t be celebrating any winter holidays<\/strong> \u2014 <strong>over 3.5X more likely<\/strong> than folks who are <strong>18 to 24 years old<\/strong>.<\/li> <\/ul>    <ul class=\"wp-block-list\"> <li><strong>Gay and lesbian respondents<\/strong> are <strong>2.5X more likely<\/strong> than heterosexuals and <strong>3X more likely<\/strong> than bisexuals to say they are <strong>not celebrating any winter holidays<\/strong>.<\/li> <\/ul>    <ul class=\"wp-block-list\"> <li><strong>1 in 10<\/strong> respondents <strong>above 55 years old<\/strong> say they <strong>won\u2019t host anyone<\/strong> in their home this holiday season.&nbsp;<\/li> <\/ul>    <h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">For the Rest of Us<\/h3>    <ul class=\"wp-block-list\"> <li>Outdated reference? <strong>None<\/strong> of the respondents <strong>ages 18 to 24<\/strong> say they plan to <strong>celebrate Festivus<\/strong> this year. Meanwhile, <strong>1 in 10<\/strong> people ages <strong>35 to 44<\/strong> <strong>will be airing their grievances<\/strong> on Dec. 23. They were in their pre-teens and teens when the popular \u201cSeinfeld\u201d episode aired in 1997.<\/li> <\/ul>    <ul class=\"wp-block-list\"> <li><strong>Wealthy respondents<\/strong> making $150,000 and up are <strong>over 4X more likely<\/strong> to be <strong>celebrating Festivus<\/strong> than folks making less than $20,000.<\/li> <\/ul>    <h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">All that Glitters<\/h3>    <ul class=\"wp-block-list\"> <li><strong>3 in 10<\/strong> respondents <strong>between 18 and 24<\/strong> say it\u2019s <strong>never too early to start decorating<\/strong> for the holiday season.<\/li> <\/ul>    <ul class=\"wp-block-list\"> <li>Respondents between <strong>18 and 24<\/strong> are <strong>6X more likely<\/strong> to say they <strong>decorate before Halloween<\/strong> than people who are 65 and up.&nbsp;<\/li> <\/ul>    <ul class=\"wp-block-list\"> <li>Light up the lawn: At <strong>66.88%<\/strong>, people who are <strong>25 to 34 years old<\/strong> are most likely to <strong>decorate their front yard<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li> <\/ul>    <ul class=\"wp-block-list\"> <li><strong>Younger folks<\/strong> (18 to 24) are <strong>7X more likely<\/strong> to find competition among <strong>friends and family<\/strong>, and nearly <strong>6X more likely<\/strong> to feel competition between <strong>neighbors<\/strong> than elderly folks ages 65 and up.&nbsp;<\/li> <\/ul>    <ul class=\"wp-block-list\"> <li><strong>Seniors<\/strong> (ages 65 and up) are <strong>4X more likely<\/strong> to <strong>purchase poinsettias <\/strong>than young holiday shoppers (18 to 24).<\/li> <\/ul>    <h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tree Tidings and Trimmings<\/h3>    <ul class=\"wp-block-list\"> <li>Spruce, fir, or pine:<strong> Over 1\/2<\/strong> of respondents ages <strong>18 to 24<\/strong> favor a <strong>real Christmas tree<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li> <\/ul>    <ul class=\"wp-block-list\"> <li>Interest in <strong>artificial trees<\/strong> is highest among <strong>older homeowners<\/strong>, with <strong>74.72%<\/strong> of those 65 and up opting for an artificial Christmas tree.<\/li> <\/ul>    <ul class=\"wp-block-list\"> <li>At <strong>52.81%<\/strong>, folks earning <strong>less than $20,000<\/strong> have the biggest preference for getting their holiday tree at a <strong>local tree farm<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li> <\/ul>    <ul class=\"wp-block-list\"> <li><strong>Young folks<\/strong> (18 to 24) are <strong>8X more likely<\/strong> to say they <strong>buy their tree online<\/strong> than people who are 65 and up.<\/li> <\/ul>    <ul class=\"wp-block-list\"> <li><strong>1\/4<\/strong> of respondents <strong>ages 25 to 34<\/strong> shop for their real Christmas tree at <strong>big-box stores<\/strong>.<\/li> <\/ul>    <ul class=\"wp-block-list\"> <li>Over <strong>1 in 10 homeowners<\/strong> <strong>above 55 years old<\/strong> have an <strong>artificial tree<\/strong> that\u2019s <strong>over 10 years old<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li> <\/ul>    <ul class=\"wp-block-list\"> <li><strong>1\/2 <\/strong>of those with <strong>no schooling completed<\/strong> say they would <strong>spend only up to $50<\/strong> on either a <strong>real or artificial tree<\/strong>.<\/li> <\/ul>    <ul class=\"wp-block-list\"> <li>Respondents <strong>65 and older<\/strong> are nearly <strong>5X more likely<\/strong> to budget <strong>over $200<\/strong> for an <strong>artificial holiday tree<\/strong> than folks who are 18 to 24 years old.&nbsp;<\/li> <\/ul>   <p><a class=\"js-anchor\" id=\"methodology\"><\/a><\/p>   <h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Methodology: Behind the Survey<\/h2>    <p>LawnStarter collected survey responses from a random sample of 1,021 U.S. homeowners aged 18 or older via Alchemer and Cint on November 13, 2024.<\/p>    <p>Each response was anonymized using a unique user ID generated and assigned by Cint.<\/p>   <p><a class=\"js-anchor\"
