She pushes down on the cover\u2019s tabs and swings it open, pulling the filter out. She then knocks it on the driveway (folds\/pleats facing up) several times or uses her air compressor to blow it out.<\/li>    <li>She mentioned that her air filter gets dirty from dust since there\u2019s a desert beyond her backyard in Idaho <em>(think sagebrush and wide open<\/em> <em>spaces, not sand and cacti)<\/em>.<\/li> <\/ul>    <p><strong>How to Clean a Foam Air Filter<\/strong><\/p>    <p>Cleaning a foam air filter is easy. It should be washed in warm, soapy water and dried.<\/p>    <p>Here are the steps for how to clean a foam air filter:&nbsp;<\/p>    <ul class=\"wp-block-list\"> <li>Grab two plastic containers\/tubs.&nbsp;<\/li>    <li>Fill one container with hot, soapy water, and the other with hot, clean water.<\/li>    <li>Take your foam air filter, agitate it, and squeeze it in hot, soapy water until the dirt washes off.&nbsp;<\/li>    <li>Squeeze it again to remove any excess water.<\/li>    <li>Dunk it in clean, hot water to remove any dirt.
