Homeowners in the Atlanta, GA, metro area have reason to rejoice. The Atlanta area came in at No. 3 in a recent ranking of the country’s best and worst markets for homeowners.

Atlanta performed especially well in five of them: affordability, maintenance costs, property taxes, energy costs and appreciation rate.

Overall, the housing market in the Atlanta area is healthy.

“The local and national labor market has been performing fairly well, and consumer confidence is good,” says Eugene James, senior regional director in Atlanta for Metrostudy, which tracks housing data across the U.S. “These factors, along with low interest rates, are keeping demand for housing in Atlanta higher than supply, and home prices will continue to increase this year [2016].”

In light of Atlanta’s position as a solid housing market, we decided to take a look at some data about homes in the region. The infographic below offers 12 facts about homes in Atlanta.
