Atlanta is known for its balance of rolling hills and beautiful greenery with the hustle and bustle of city living. It’s growing economy, happening night-life, and beautiful views are just some of the many reasons why Atlanta, GA is the ninth largest metropolis area in the United States of America.

Since the 1996 Olympics, Atlanta has witnessed a boom, as over 5.5 million people and counting now call the Empire City of the South home. If you are looking to (or already have) set up shop in The A, you’re going to need some ideas for your landscape so that you can keep up with the Joneses!  Here are our top 5 most glamorous landscapes in Atlanta, Georgia.

1. The Heart of Ansley Park

Why we like it:

First things first. All eyes lead to that staircase! #ThatStairCaseTho! Its white brick retaining wall curves up the landscape, offering drama you would otherwise only find at the neighboring Woodruff Arts Center. Immediately surrounding the walkway is carpet grass that gives a unique patch-like texture that contrasts masterfully with the rest of the well-manicured lawn. Playing with design, the landscape is given a free-form, complementing the elegance of the elongated entrance. Surrounding the grass is red mulch, giving an added pop of color around the edges. The perimeter of the property is surrounded by tall trees offering up a bit or seclusion in this dramatic house for the heavens.

2. Palatial on Paces Ferry Road

Why we like it:

Two acres of lush green grass beautifully manicured in a criss-crossed pattern gives this breathtaking house a sense of privacy fit for a king. It’s like back in the old days when you would have to cross land and a moat in hopes to conquer royalty. Good luck here! The beautiful acreage of green is given an extra pop with a circular display of mini shrubs front and center on the lawn. The gorgeous iron trellis is surrounded by a unique pattern of spiraled trees and hedges. This play of tall, free forming trees with short and sturdy hedges creates an aesthetically pleasing fence around the grounds. Much less of an eyesore than a slew of pawns and soldiers to protect the king!

3. Basic Blackland Elegance

Why we like it:

No, that’s not Buckingham Palace. It’s a beautiful estate on Blackland Road! This is a case of simplicity equaling excellence. A 1.25 acre lot with perfectly kempt grass gives a sense of seriousness, which is further established by the rectangular, masterfully sculpted hedges. Serious doesn’t necessarily mean boring, though! Behind these sturdy hedges are rounded out shrubs popping up to say hello! A beautiful arrangement of pink flowered bushes give this timeless lawn just the right amount of liveliness. This is a clean, classy landscape with the perfect touch of edge.

4. All Spruced Up on Tuxedo Road

Why we like it:

This beautiful cottage tucked away in the woods is surrounded by abundance of tall trees. Breaking up all that greenery is an ovular shaped landscape. What we love is the uniqueness of the layout. A patch of lively green grass is surrounded by a swirl of sepia-toned dirt. The pathway leading to a house is a parade of small shrubs, decreasing in size as it gets smaller. This house takes a risk with such a different approach to landscape, and it sure pays off.

5. The Palace on West Paces Ferry

Why we like it:

Another luscious landscape on West Paces Ferry Road makes the list. This contemporary house comes to sharp peaks, given a consistent sense of symmetry by the trees standing tall by the entrance. Size and shape are played with as the trees working around the house get smaller in size. Pinks, whites, yellows, and oranges festively bring the gardens alive. The true highlight of this gorgeous landscape comes in the backyard. A free-form pool glistens amongst a well-manicured vibrant, green lawn. We would be remiss not to point out the elegant spiral stairway leading up the house. It’s just glowing with glamour. That’s why it closes out our list of Top 5 glamorous lawns in Atlanta, duh!
