Dear Amy Schumer: 8 Reasons Why Tampa Is Not ‘Horrendous’

It’s safe to say that the nearly 370,000 residents of Tampa, FL, are not amused by comedian Amy Schumer.

In her new book, “The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo,” Schumer slams Tampa as a “horrendous” city:

“I was on the road doing a tour and traveling between two horrendous cities: Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Tampa, Florida. … I’m not scared about writing that and making those people mad, because I know for a fact that no one who lives there has ever read a book.”

That assessment comes despite the fact that Schumer supposedly enjoyed an amazing one-night stand in Tampa.

We know that Tampa residents can and do read, so we sought out data supporting our contention that Tampa is by no means “horrendous.” Here are eight of the reasons we uncovered for why Schumer’s description of Tampa is far from funny. (We hope you’re able to read this infographic, Amy.)
